There was the sighting from a week ago 6/20 on the creekside of piercy rd and silver creek rd., when Bellas was seen 20 yards from Amanda drinking from the pond down in the creek area) and also now one from last evening off Monterey Rd. between Metcalf and Bailey. Bella was going south along ditch/railroad tracks on Monterey Rd., north of Bailey. The lady said Bella was moving fast, which is typical for a Shiba. Don't know if she was running from something or to something, but excellent sign she is thriving. Was out there thiis morning and saw several places if she got that far south how she could cross over Monterey Rd. much easier than in the conjested SJ areas of Monterey Rd. between Tully and Blossom Hill. I believe we likely scared her out of the Silver Creek/Piercy Rd. area, or did the animal life. A bobcat has been spotted there a couple times now and Be! lla is smart enough to move on when she doesn't feel safe or wants to avoid people/animals. From Silver Creek, if she headed on south along the creek, eventually she would hit the Metcalf area and be able to get across Monterey Rd. fairly easily, especially on a Sunday night at 8pm, when she was seen. I just wish she would stop heading south, turn arouand and go north,. If she did, once she hits Branham Ln. it's a short, straight shot home about 3-4 miles.
I have also contacted the Animal Catcher for Morgan Hill, who I've spoken with before, to alert him she could be headed his direction. Interestingly, Morgan Hill takes all found animals to Santa Clara, vs San Martin, which is in their backyard. Could use help in getting volunteers to put up additional flyers in this new area, from Metcalf south and nearby neighborhoods, which seem to be in pockets.
Also, I just learned of a new sighting back on 6/12 in a neighborhood off Hellyer Ave, east of 101, on a street called Tresslewood. Bella took some water from the lady, but she didin't know she was missing at the time. She saw the poster yesterday when Cindy and Mike were checking trail cams and I spoke to her in detail. She was very definite and makes sense, as Bella would have continued down the hill on Hellyer into the industrial park where she was seen on 6/15 and then by Amanda in the creek area 6/20.
Thank you for helping to bring Bella home safely. Please feel free to pass this info on to anyone interested. Everyones help is appreciated, even if you have just an hour to give. Thank you again for your help and support.
