Bailey's Gift was founded to support San Jose animal advocates in their quest to rescue, rehabilitate and neuter all Pit Bulls, dogs, cats, and feral cats living in the South Bay Area. We support the efforts of the San Jose Animal Care & Services Center (SJACS) and the Silicon Valley Humane Society (HSSV) as well as local, national and global non-profit animal rescue organizations.
We hope in time you will come to consider this to be your Animal Advocate Headquarters where you can network with other like-minded volunteers and utilize all the tools of the trade you'll need to rescue, foster, promote and place the orphaned animals who find you, whether they be in California or across the country.
This website was inspired by and is therefore dedicated to my beloved Labrador Retreiver, Jackson Baylor, AKA Bailey, AKA SpazDog. Bailey turned 11 on September 5, 2008 and as his mommy I am very excited to launch this new website, bearing his name.
A Message from Bailey's Mommy, Caroline:
Long before I was born, my mother and grandmother were rescuing and protecting animals. It is an honor, a privledge, a responsibility and a "calling" that inspires me to keep rescuing, keep fostering, keep educating, keep promoting, and keep advocating, one animal at a time. And this I will continue to do, until my last breath or until we run out of orphaned and neglected animals.
